As we draw closer to the 1st May. Here is a little thing that shows us why Pope John Paul was such a great man.
The Other day I had an Conversation with someone about Fashion. I am not sure if many of you know but I used to work in Top shop in Oxford Circus. So I thought I woulds share with you some of the trend that might look good for the Summer of 2012. First of all I am really pleased to say that there seems to be a little colour back into the high street this season. This must be because of the bad weather that people want to wear bold and primary colours. Although I am not sure about the hat in the lower picture. Am I old fashioned enough to say that hats and woolen hats should be winter wear and not summer wear. Fresh and clean colours are in this year. Good but loose the hat. The black and grey days are over and we can see that these are both stylish from the ladies but also a Casual look from the lads. But there are some fashions that are clearly wrong and should be left alone. See the Green Jumper down below. I don't really know where to ...
THE END IS NIGH. But there is so many things that I want to do. Give me a little time: The Cats still in the garden. I have not finished the washing. Can’t it wait until there is a little more time to have a think about it? Maybe tomorrow when I am not so busy? And yet maybe the questions we need to ask are: Am I ready? We are like the foolish bridesmaids who when asked are not ready at all because they were not prepared the story tells us that they had gone out to buy oil for their lamps: and so missed out. It is suggested that we are like the wise bridesmaids who were ready for the bridegroom when he came. So how do we do this? How do we get ready? Well the readings give us a very good clue. The psalmist prays and acknowledges that he is waiting and yearning for God. ...
Over the last few weeks I have been reading a book called the Shack. I won’t spoil it for you but it is a book about a Man called Mack and his search for God. In the deepest darkest moment of his life in what the Author describes as the great sadness he meets God. I can’t tell you what happens because I have not read the whole book yet. Often and this is a criticism of the Church as well we put God in boxes. It is safer that way. We keep God at a distance and yet is not God bigger than this. Often what happens is that we do not let God in and so he cannot work through us. We are asked today to be salt for the earth and a light in the darkness that so often elopes round people. And so we must ourselves learn to love God and also learn his ways. We can do this by a number of ways. First by prayer: listening to his voice calling us into life. Secondly by receiving the sacraments especially the Blessed Sacrament at Mass and going to Confession but also and this is something that we migh...
